Jardi del Turia

One of Spain's biggest urban parks is the Turia Gardens. There are nine kilometers of green space that wind through the city and include walking pathways, sports fields, and quiet places to decompress. The Turia Gardens are the ideal location for runners, cyclists, families, and nature lovers, stretching from Cabecera Park to the city.

The old riverbed, which is now crossed by 18 historic bridges, runs alongside the major museums and monuments of the city on both banks. The expansive gardens were constructed on the Turia's former riverbed after its course was changed to stop the city from being constantly flooded. Different park portions were created by a number of urban planners and landscape architects, each of whom recreated the original river panorama.

How to explore Jardi del Turia?

Take a leisure walk through a special route with palm and orange trees, ponds and pine forests, rose gardens, fountains, and scented plants in the garden.

Children can climb up the fingers, hair, and legs of a 70-meter-tall reclining figure at the enormous Gulliver Park and slide down it like Lilliputians.

The Palau de la Musica has areas where kids can play football and skate.

In Cabecera Park, little swan-shaped boats are available for rent.

Along the route, you will pass by a lot of taverns and cafés with sizable patios where you may stop for refreshments.

The Bioparc's realistic-looking African savannah and the Oceanographic's underwater world and ecosystems, as well as the magnificent opera theater and Palau de Les Arts, are all connected by the Turia Gardens. You can visit these places for more entertainment.
