There is a historic lighthouse called Vizhinjam lighthouse, which was built in 1925, around 10 kilometers from Trivandrum city. Throughout the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, Vizhinjam was a bustling seaport. This 36-meter high tower, which rises 57 meters above sea level, is only accessible to the public for three hours each day. Red and white bands make up the paint markings. Metal halide lights and a direct drive mechanism are installed in the lighthouse.

Vizhinjam, one of the nation's and the state's oldest lighthouses, is a well-known landmark that receives a lot of visitors each year.
