Heart of Sharjah

The Heart of Sharjah is a project that aims to transform the old town area of Sharjah into a bustling tourist destination, showcasing the traditional Emirati lifestyle and culture. This project is spread over an area of 1.5 million square meters and includes the restoration of 17 heritage buildings, including the Al Hisn Fort and the Souq Al Arsah. The project also includes the creation of more than 20 public spaces like parks, plazas, and squares. This project preserves the city's heritage while bringing about modern development and growth in the area.

Al Hisn Fort:

One of the most significant attractions in the area is the Al Hisn Fort, which was constructed in 1820 and was the residence of the ruling family of Sharjah. This fort has been restored and transformed into a museum, showcasing the city's history and its people. The museum houses artifacts and exhibits that depict the lifestyle, traditions, and culture of Sharjah.

Souq Al Arsah:

The Souq Al Arsah, located in the old town area, is one of the oldest souks in the UAE. This souq has been restored to its original form, with narrow alleys and a traditional souq atmosphere. The souq is home to various shops that sell traditional Emirati products like spices, perfumes, textiles, and jewelry. Visitors to the souq can explore the culture and heritage of Sharjah through the various stalls and shops in the souq.
