Peshawar Museum, the one and only museum of Gandhara art in the world draws a large number of domestic and international visitors in addition to archaeologists. The museum was built in 1907 as a monument to Queen Victoria and featured a fusion of British, South Asian, Hindu, Mughal, Islamic, and Buddhist architectural influences.

The main hall and two side aisles on ground and first floors, topped by four elegant domes and a small pinnacle on all corners, originally made up the two-story building, an amalgam of British and Mughal architecture. It has since been restored and preserved, leaving indelible impressions on visitors.
