Masjid Taneem

Masjid e Aisha, commonly referred to as Masjid e Taneem or Taneem Mosque, is a well-known location for travelers doing the Umrah and Hajj pilgrimages. It is named after Aisha, the wife of the Prophet Muhammad, who performed her Umrah pilgrimage while menstruation by entering Ihram in this mosque.

The Prophet gave her the go-ahead to perform Hajj and all other pilgrimage rituals and duties except Tawaf. She followed the directions and didn't finish Tawaf until her period was through.

The Prophet then instructed her brother to drive her to Taneem. She then continued with her Umrah pilgrimage in the Islamic calendar month of Dhul Hijjah, which is the twelfth month.

The history of the Masjid e Aisha explains why it is a Miqat, or location, for wearing in Ihram attire. The mosque is well-equipped with restrooms and showers for everyone, and there are frequently vendors selling Ihram garments and necessities like money belts and slippers all around it.
