Fatima Jinnah Park

Fatima Jinnah Park, known as Capital Park or F-9 Park, is a public recreational park that encompasses the entirety of Sector F-9 in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Things to do at Fatima Jinnah Park:

  • Learn about the people who contributed to the making of this park:

Michael Japero was the one who came up with the design, and it was first used in 1992. It was given the name Jinnah in honour of Madar-e Millat Fatima Jinnah, the younger sister of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan.

  • Explore the premises:

This is the first park in the city that welcomes people from all walks of life, and it was designed to serve as Islamabad's respiratory system. It is pedestrianised and contains 90 per cent green space; the only areas where cars are allowed are at the entrance.

  • Spend a lazy afternoon working out in the green gym:

A pathway runs along an additional property strip located outside the boundary fence. Features such as athletic facilities, an outdoor theatre, and pavilions have been designed to relieve the bustle of city life on both a community and an individual scale. Also, there is a well-laid network of footpaths where people can jog.

  • Observe the man made elements that exemplify the beauty:

The vast majority of Fatima Jinnah Park's area is covered in vegetation, and the park only contains a few artificial structures scattered across the terrain. These artificial features have been clad in 'dry pack' local stone to bring back an old construction method and to give them coherence.

  • Study the deployment of technology for optimization used here:

To reduce the amount of upkeep needed and ensure that the park will continue to improve over time, it has specified efficient watering systems, natural materials, and appropriate planting.
