MACA is located in the historic center of the city, in front of the monumental basilica of Santa María. It is an imposing new building that occupies one block and integrates the sober volume of the Casa de La Asegurada, the oldest civil building in the city. It is a prominent example of the Valencian Baroque.

The MACA is one of the most important cultural facilities in the city, owned by the Alicante City Council. It has 4680 m2 of total area and is available on four floors above ground and two basements.
